What Loopquill collects

Loopquill does not store any personal data on a server. In V1, there is no user account system, no registration, and no server-side record of what you download.

When you pull a file, Loopquill makes a server-side request to YouTube on your behalf to fetch preview metadata and the media file. That server request does not log or retain your IP address, search history, or download history beyond what is needed to complete the request.

Browser storage — localStorage

Your recent downloads are stored in your browser's localStorage under the key loopquill_history. This data never leaves your device. Loopquill does not transmit it to any server, analytics platform, or third party.

You can clear your history at any time using the Clear history button in the Recent strip below the converter, or by clearing localStorage for this site in your browser settings. The history keeps the ten most recent downloads and nothing else.

Analytics — PostHog

Loopquill uses PostHog to understand how the tool is used — which formats are most common, whether previews and downloads succeed, and where errors occur. PostHog also provides session replay (screen recordings of anonymised sessions) and exception capture (unhandled errors). This data helps improve the product.

Analytics collection is off by default when you first visit. A consent banner gives you the choice to Accept or Decline. If you Decline, no analytics, replay, or event data is sent to PostHog. All inputs are masked in session recordings — your URL input is never visible. Your choice is stored in localStorage under the key loopquill_consent so it persists across sessions. You can change your choice at any time by clearing that key or by revisiting the consent banner (clear the key and reload).

PostHog is operated by PostHog, Inc. Their privacy practices are described in the PostHog Privacy Policy. Analytics events are proxied through Loopquill's own domain (/ingest) to reduce ad-blocker interference.

Advertising — NitroPay

Loopquill is supported by ads served through NitroPay. NitroPay may collect data about your visit as part of serving and measuring ads — including device type, browser, and inferred interests. This data is handled by NitroPay under their own privacy practices.

Cookies and local storage keys

Loopquill itself sets no cookies. The following localStorage keys are written by Loopquill:

• loopquill_history — your ten most recent downloads
• loopquill_consent — your analytics consent choice

NitroPay may set its own cookies according to their privacy policy. PostHog sets cookies and localStorage entries only after you accept analytics.

Your rights

Because Loopquill does not store personal data on a server, there is no user record to access, export, or delete from our side. Everything Loopquill holds about you exists in your own browser. Clearing your browser's localStorage for this site removes it entirely.

Changes to this policy
